This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• As a member of the team, you will be responsible for creating new features.
• Address scaling challenges and take ownership of entire projects — from conception to dependable operation.

• You will develop backend functionalities using PHP 8.x and Symfony, focusing on domain logic, APIs, and interfaces within a data-intensive codebase that has matured over 18+ years.
• You will engage with the frontend utilizing TypeScript, React, and TanStack to create modern user interfaces and production-oriented workflows.
• You will create Node.js services for specific areas of our platform, employing TypeScript and Next.js.
• You will work on JVM microservices utilizing Java and Kotlin within the e-invoicing sector.
• You will oversee data migrations, refactor existing modules, and gradually modernize legacy PHP sections in a systematic manner.
• You will conduct thorough error analysis and debugging when systems do not perform as anticipated.
• You will leverage AI as a genuine tool for productivity enhancement.
• Depending on the topic, you will also handle infrastructure and develop local dockerized environments.
• You possess extensive experience with PHP/Symfony.
• You are skilled in TypeScript.
• You are eager to embrace responsibilities akin to a founding engineer.
• Comfort in working with multiple programming languages is essential for this role.
• You have significant, independent expertise in software development with PHP and Symfony at a senior level — including clean domain design, testing, and performance experience in a substantial, long-lasting codebase.
• Depending on your focus, you also have experience with TypeScript/React.
• You are proficient with relational databases such as MySQL, including query optimization and data modeling for large datasets.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Node.js, data structures & algorithms, distributed systems, and data-intensive applications.
• Bonus: Experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Bonus: Contributions to open-source projects or public repositories on GitHub.
• You are fluent in German and have strong English communication skills.
