Senior Software Engineer – Payments, Treasury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

• Contribute to the development and expansion of the systems and services that underpin Alpaca.

• Enable millions of users to trade assets worth billions of dollars on a daily basis.

• Accountable for creating and sustaining a contemporary global payments and treasury infrastructure.

• A preference for straightforward and elegant solutions.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with scalable systems.

• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining microservices.

• Familiarity with client-facing APIs.

• Proficient coding skills, preferably in Go.

• Ability to produce clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.

• Experience with domain-driven design and event-driven design methodologies.

• Capacity to troubleshoot issues or, ideally, anticipate and prevent problems altogether.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes.

• Experience with cloud services, ideally Google Cloud Platform.

• Familiarity with messaging queues and message brokers.

• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Background in designing distributed systems.

• Prior experience or understanding of payment rails and the payment lifecycle.

• Experience with double-entry accounting and financial ledgers.
