This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, implement, and sustain software systems that engage with or govern network infrastructure.
• Set up, administer, and resolve issues in MikroTik RouterOS environments, encompassing scripting, APIs, and policy enforcement.
• Create, construct, and preserve efficient, security-enhanced containerized services tailored for both resource-limited and contemporary Linux-based environments.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and UX team members to transform user stories into high-performance, scalable capabilities, features, services, and applications.
• Incorporate advanced network protocols with an emphasis on RADIUS, 802.1X, and associated AAA technologies.
• Develop automation tools and network services for configuration, authentication, and device lifecycle management.
• Address architectural and code-design challenges alongside cross-functional team members.
• Adhere to service design and coding best practices while making scalable long-term decisions.
• Operate within an Agile methodology utilizing two-week sprints.
• Recognize and integrate security requirements into the software development lifecycle.
• Engage in security reviews as necessary.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in team knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Engage in an on-call rotation.
• Contribute to a cloud-based AWS central authentication platform that securely connects hotel and multifamily-residence guests and residents to Wi-Fi internet.
• Over 8 years of software engineering experience, preferably in network-oriented roles.
• Proficiency with MikroTik devices, RouterOS scripting, API integration, and configuration automation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of RADIUS, AAA workflows, 802.1X, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, firewalling, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and pertinent network essentials.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code; CloudFormation is preferred.
• Experience in RESTful API design and development.
• Background in complex AWS systems, particularly serverless architectures.
• Experience in developing scalable cloud services.
• Proficient in Linux and comfortable in CLI-driven environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering products as part of an Agile team.
• Must reside in the United States.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
