This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Address significant business challenges on a large scale by leveraging your software engineering and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Design, develop, and manage scalable distributed systems for our cloud automation platform, which encompasses the cloud control plane, Kubernetes container platform, and traffic and networking.
• Engage directly with customers to promptly grasp their critical issues and formulate and implement effective solutions.
• Deploy and ensure the availability of cloud compute servers and Kubernetes clusters that support the Snowflake platform in sensitive (occasionally air-gapped) production settings.
• Develop software and maintain delivery pipelines that facilitate continuous delivery and automatic compliance in sensitive runtime environments.
• Guarantee operational readiness of services while fulfilling commitments to customers regarding security, reliability, availability, and performance.
• Work closely with product teams to establish requirements and SLOs for deploying software in air-gapped environments.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network and systems problems.
• Automate routine operational tasks to enhance efficiency.
• Over 7 years of professional experience in designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in production, with recent engagements involving public sector clients.
• Extensive knowledge of storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficient development skills in Java, C++, Golang, or Python.
• Experience with database systems and their internals.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal laws and government contract stipulations; verification through a valid passport or approved documentation is necessary.
