Senior Software Engineer – Microsoft

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of production software for AidenBot utilizing C# and .NET, with an emphasis on reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Contribute to technical design and architecture by assessing trade-offs, defining interfaces and patterns, documenting decisions, and facilitating the platform’s evolution while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Oversee the complete delivery of impactful product features, from refinement and estimation to implementation, code reviews, automated testing, deployment support, and post-release analysis.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate defects and production issues across application code, services, integrations, data flows, and Windows endpoint environments.

• Ensure engineering quality through clear, testable code; comprehensive reviews; adequate automated test coverage; observability; secure development practices; and disciplined source control.

• Engage in technical collaboration and mentorship that enhances the engineering team's effectiveness, sharing context, reviewing designs, tackling challenging problems together, and assisting other engineers in making informed implementation choices.

• Apply AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows to enhance efficiency while maintaining code quality, security, governance, and release reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8-10+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on expertise in building and supporting production applications using C# and .NET.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, object-oriented design, APIs, asynchronous processing, data access, integration patterns, and maintainable application design.

• Proven capability to navigate complex features from vague requirements through technical design, implementation, testing, release, and production support.

• Experience in diagnosing challenging software issues utilizing logs, metrics, traces, debuggers, profilers, and methodical root-cause analysis.

• A robust quality mindset, encompassing experience with unit, integration, and automated testing; code reviews; source control; CI/CD; and dependable release practices.

• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL, including data modeling, query performance, and application-level data access.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating in Agile/Scrum teams and using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or comparable planning, source control, build, and deployment systems.

• Comfort in a smaller, high-accountability growth company where senior engineers balance architecture, hands-on delivery, collaboration, and production ownership.
