Senior Software Engineer – m/f/d

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of backend robustness: Enhance and sustain core backend elements with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.

• Tackle intricate business logic: Detect and resolve edge cases arising from diverse customer data and changing requirements.

• Optimize database performance: Assess and refine slow queries, data access patterns, and schema decisions as data volumes grow.

• Develop practical solutions: Carefully extend existing systems, prioritizing simplicity over premature optimization and abstraction.

• Collaborate on essential operations: Contribute to improvements in infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and deployment that directly influence backend stability and scalability.

• Work closely with the team: Partner with fellow engineers and product teams to translate genuine operational needs into dependable backend functionality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Software Engineer.

• Over 2 years of experience with Python in production environments.

• More than 2 years of experience with Django.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.

• Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Skilled with Git and collaborative workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code reviews).

• Experience in writing automated tests to ensure reliability and prevent regressions.

• Capability to make pragmatic technical decisions, steering clear of overengineering while upholding high standards.

• Experience with AWS ECS and containerized deployments in live environments.

• Excellent collaborative communication skills in English.

• Nice to have: Previous exposure to financial or data-intensive systems.
