Senior Software Engineer – Java, Angular

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop software code that is not only efficient but also high-performing, testable, scalable, secure, and of superior quality.

• Implement object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

• Actively participate in agile project teams during scrum meetings, sprint planning, and code reviews.

• Engage in requirements analysis sessions, technical design, implementation, testing, problem solving, and technical documentation.

• Create automated unit tests.

• Handle integration testing, both manually and through automation.

• Communicate technical challenges to peers, architects, and project managers, while offering innovative solutions.

• Maintain application quality and prevent regressions by ensuring test suites cover the full range of system features.

• Foster client success across the team by collaborating with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user challenges, foresee potential issues, and refine solutions that enhance client satisfaction.

• Actively contribute to the Engineering Practice community by mentoring others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, while aiding the development of technical skills.

• Independently manage project delivery within established architecture, showcasing autonomy and accountability throughout all phases from conceptualization to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with a comprehensive understanding of CS fundamentals and theories relevant to application development.

• At least 8+ years of experience/expertise in the specified areas below:

• Strong software development background using Java.

• Experience in building applications with Spring, SpringBoot, and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate and JPA.

• Proficient in developing applications with Angular 2+.

• Skilled in creating RESTful Web Services.

• Familiar with front-end technologies: Angular 2+, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Knowledgeable in writing SQL Queries, including Joins, Views, Group By, and Having Clause.

• Familiar with version control systems, preferably GIT.

• Experience in Agile software development methodologies.

• Expertise in applying Object-Oriented Programming principles such as abstraction and encapsulation.

• Proven experience in creating and implementing well-tested, scalable, and high-performance enterprise-level systems.

• Experience in executing Unit, Integration, and End-to-End Testing.

• Strong client-facing experience and excellent communication skills.
