Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure and platform services.

• Create reusable internal platform features that enhance the way engineers build, deploy, and manage services.

• Collaborate with AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), observability, and distributed systems.

• Work alongside product engineering to identify recurring requirements and transform them into scalable platform solutions.

• Assess system interactions, highlight risks or inefficiencies, and promote enhancements.

• Enhance the reliability, performance, availability, and maintainability of production systems.

• Establish and advocate for platform best practices (SLOs, monitoring, incident response, operational readiness).

• Instrument, troubleshoot, and enhance services and infrastructure (including TypeScript services).

• Lead technical projects from problem identification to delivery and adoption.

• Convey tradeoffs, risks, and progress to engineering stakeholders.

• Guide engineers in building reliable and scalable systems.

• Engage in on-call duties and incident response.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive experience with AWS in production settings.

• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and system design.

• Experience in developing internal platforms, developer tools, or shared services.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform is a plus).

• Strong programming abilities and proficiency in debugging production systems (TypeScript is a plus).

• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated deployment processes.

• Understanding of observability (metrics, logs, traces, alerting, SLOs).

• Capability to analyze complex systems and comprehend cross-component interactions.

• Proven experience in leading technical initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
