Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure Automation, Distributed Systems

📋 Description

• Design, develop, implement, and manage infrastructure services while overseeing the software life cycle to achieve business objectives.

• Engage in establishing internal-facing service level targets and error budgets as part of the observability approach.

• Reduce manual effort or automate processes where the return on investment supports the creation and maintenance of automation.

• Foster a culture of sustainable, blameless incident prevention and response.

• Participate in an on-call rotation.

• Advise peer teams on best practices for systems design.

• Provide guidance to peer teams regarding optimal systems design methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline involving coding, or equivalent experience.

• 12+ years of pertinent experience.

• Proven history of initiating projects, securing collaboration, and working on collaborative projects.

• Proficiency in infrastructure automation and distributed systems architecture for large-scale private or public cloud environments in production.

• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.

• Extensive knowledge of one or more areas including Linux, Networking, Storage, or Containers.

• Methodical problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, a sense of ownership, and motivation.

• Experience utilizing coding assistants, MCP servers, or AI agents to enhance business outcomes.

• Knowledge or experience in developing bare metal as a service (BMaaS) systems.

• Experience with multi-cloud infrastructure services and cloud systems based on Kubernetes, OpenStack, Docker, or Slurm.

• Experience in teaching reliability or cloud systems practices to colleagues or other organizations.

• Familiarity with NVIDIA Collective Communication Library (NCCL).

• No specific prior experience in a team with any particular designation or in an ML/AI-focused team is required.
