Senior Software Engineer in Test – L4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead and establish the testing strategy for intricate, high-impact product domains and cross-system integrations.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable automated test suites for both UI and API layers utilizing Playwright.

• Take ownership of and drive API test automation at scale, encompassing contract testing, end-to-end integration flows, and data validation.

• Assess, plan, and implement performance testing to pinpoint bottlenecks, verify SLAs, and guarantee system reliability under load.

• Mentor and coach L2/L3 QA engineers by conducting code reviews, collaborating on complex test scenarios, and assisting the team in enhancing their technical skills.

• Advocate for quality engineering best practices, including shift-left testing, test pyramid principles, and continuous testing within CI/CD.

• Work in conjunction with engineering leadership on release readiness, risk assessment, and quality metrics.

• Identify deficiencies in tools, processes, and coverage, leading initiatives to remedy them.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10+ years of comprehensive experience in software quality assurance, with substantial expertise in test automation.

• A minimum of 1.5 years of practical experience with Playwright for UI test automation.

• Strong proficiency in API testing and automation, including building test suites and validating complex integration scenarios.

• Experience in testing enterprise or SaaS applications with multi-tenant, multi-integration architectures.

• A strong sense of ownership — ability to work independently and lead initiatives from conception to execution.

• Experience in performance testing using tools such as Locust, JMeter, k6, or Gatling (Good to Have).

• Familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript (Good to Have).

• Understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and optimization (e.g., Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions) (Good to Have).
