Senior Software Engineer II – Fullstack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop customer-facing product features primarily for our AWS-based PaaS across our technology stack, which includes: Ruby on Rails backend systems, a web application (React-TypeScript), a Terraform client (Go), a CLI client (Ruby), and more.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to clarify requirements, make necessary trade-offs, and deliver high-quality increments in small batches.

• Enhance the developer experience, which includes internal tooling, local development workflows, and the transition from code to production.

• Contribute to improvements in reliability and operability, focusing on CI/CD, release processes, observability, and incident response tools.

• Take part in the on-call rotation and assist in follow-ups that minimize repeat incidents and simplify system operations.

• Work alongside our customer-facing engineering team to investigate customer issues and implement fixes or enhancements as needed.

• Leverage AI tools to optimize your development workflow and increase productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess experience in shipping production software as a full-stack engineer (aiming for mid-level to Senior II), with a preference for developer tools experience.

• You excel in communication — being clear, effective, and proactive in both spoken and written forms.

• You have solid software engineering fundamentals and coding skills, with comfort working across a full-stack codebase.

• You are a prolific and thoughtful developer in at least one mainstream programming language and can quickly adapt to new languages/frameworks.

• You are adept at building developer-facing interfaces and workflows, not just backend services.

• You are comfortable operating within cloud infrastructure or distributed systems.

• You consider security, privacy, and compliance implications as integral to feature development.

• You have a proven track record as an expert in the products you have developed and serve as a trusted resource for Product Design and Product Management during initial feature and product planning.

• You are eager to be part of a small, highly collaborative Engineering Team. You tackle ambiguity and obstacles head-on, identifying blockers, taking ownership, and driving efforts to resolve them.
