This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design and develop essential platform services for a cloud-native insurance solution.
• Create scalable and reliable microservices operating on AWS container infrastructure.
• Develop APIs, metadata models, and workflows that cater to intricate insurance products.
• Contribute to shaping systems that are organized and versioned, allowing for safe automation and future AI-assisted workflows.
• Utilize contemporary AI-assisted development tools to expedite design, coding, and testing processes.
• Work collaboratively with Product, Customer Delivery, and Solution Architects to transform complex business requirements into robust platform functionalities.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor fellow engineers, fostering a culture of strong engineering principles and ongoing learning.
• Continuously enhance our platform architecture, infrastructure, and developer productivity.
• Extensive experience in building complex production systems or platform services.
• Proficiency in designing distributed systems and service architectures.
• Experience with Golang, Python, and/or Node.js / TypeScript.
• Practical experience managing systems on modern cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar).
• Understanding of microservices, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A strong emphasis on system design, data modeling, and long-term sustainability.
• Regular utilization of AI tools as part of the engineering workflow while fully owning system correctness.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach when engaging with engineering, product, and customer teams.
• A curiosity and enthusiasm for solving complex problems without predefined solutions.
