Senior Software Engineer, Fintech – Accounting Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and develop integrations between Engine's billing system and leading ERP platforms such as QuickBooks, Netsuite, Sage, Xero, and Oracle Fusion.

• Collaborate closely with external vendors to explore APIs, participate in architectural onboarding sessions, and secure integration design approval.

• Manage the entire integration lifecycle, from vendor demonstrations to production deployment and ongoing support.

• Establish the architecture for future expense management integrations, including Expensify and Concur.

• Work in partnership with the billing team and internal accounting stakeholders to guarantee accurate and reliable line-of-credit-to-ERP flows.

• Utilize Claude and/or Cursor as the main development environment.

• Lead the design and implementation of greenfield services, replacing legacy code with modern microservices, robust test coverage, and production-grade observability.

• Empower product teams by developing and maintaining integrations.

• Convert accounting requirements into engineering solutions in collaboration with other teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong system design capabilities, encompassing architectural decision-making, tradeoff analysis, and infrastructure-level reasoning.

• Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical challenges to accountants and business operations stakeholders.

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like Claude, Cursor, or similar as a primary coding interface.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering complex systems, rather than just individual features.

• Java or Kotlin experience is preferred by the team.

• Experience in FinTech, payments, fraud, or billing systems is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ERP or accounting integrations is a plus.

• Experience with Terraform, Datadog, or Splunk is beneficial.
