Senior Software Engineer, DevOps/Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the technical advancement of the control plane — not only maintaining its operation but also determining its future direction.

• Create and deliver platform primitives (Terraform modules, pipeline templates, account/networking patterns) that feature teams willingly adopt due to their superiority over alternatives — rather than through mandates.

• Collaborate with embedded infrastructure engineers to pinpoint recurring challenges across verticals and transform them into self-service capabilities.

• Take charge of essential yet tedious tasks: AWS Organization maintenance, CI/CD reliability, vendor contract management, integration health, and incident response on shared infrastructure.

• Provide mentorship across the discipline. Our infra standups occur twice weekly — this is your opportunity to teach, learn, and remain aligned with embedded engineers.

• Aim to minimize the SDLC step-function count. Each new approval gate and every "ask infra first" workflow is a burden — your responsibility is to reduce it.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in building and managing production cloud infrastructure, with extensive AWS knowledge (multi-account, networking, IAM, security boundaries).

• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform — you have designed reusable modules, operated TFC at scale, and possess strong opinions regarding state, drift, and execution patterns.

• Solid background in CI/CD — experience with GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, OIDC, and secret management.

• Familiarity with platform engineering: delivering internal tools and abstractions that engineers genuinely want to utilize.

• An inclination towards empowering teams rather than gatekeeping. You prefer constructing the paved road over approving off-road permits.
