Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Developing tools and applications to enhance Calendly’s infrastructure platform

• Assessing and implementing cloud-native open-source tools

• Applying expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and methodologies

• Establishing resilient infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code

• Overseeing and enhancing the observability of our infrastructure platform, providing patterns for application teams to utilize for application observability

• Engaging in an on-call rotation to support the infrastructure platform

• Cultivating a collaborative environment focused on learning and knowledge sharing

• Setting standard practices and tools related to new services, changes, incidents, postmortems, and capacity management, and collaborating with application engineering teams to implement those practices

• A strong desire and motivation to learn, along with the ability to share knowledge and mentor others

• Innovative problem-solving skills, a sharp attention to detail, and the capability to navigate complex issues

• Comfortable interacting directly with internal customers to comprehend needs and requirements, and collaborating on solutions

• A solid understanding of the Linux operating system

• Proficient technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (particularly GCP), distributed systems, and reliability practices

• Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining highly available production infrastructure

• Strong development experience in Golang or Python, particularly in writing APIs to build, orchestrate, and manage cloud infrastructure

• Comprehensive knowledge of patterns and principles for creating and implementing cloud-native applications on Kubernetes, including Controllers and Operators

• In-depth understanding of computer networking principles and significant experience with cloud networking technologies to develop scalable and secure environments

• Extensive hands-on experience with software and infrastructure monitoring tools (especially Datadog)

• Authorized to work legally in the United States, as Calendly does not provide immigration sponsorship at this time
