Senior Software Engineer, Developer Platform – Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and architecture of scalable and efficient full-stack solutions that fulfill product requirements and enhance user experience.

• Offer technical direction and mentorship to engineers on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.

• Represent your team's technical priorities and requirements within the wider engineering organization.

• Engage in product discovery sessions to evaluate feasibility, investigate user needs, outline product features, and validate concepts through prototypes and experiments.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to craft intuitive and engaging user interfaces that resolve user challenges and improve the overall experience.

• Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and communication among systems and services.

• Contribute to the team's vision and the platform as a technical leader by identifying new strategic technologies and investments that enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Decompose complex projects into clear, actionable tasks to facilitate successful outcomes.

• Implement observability practices across the platform, including logging, monitoring, and alerting, to maintain system reliability and performance.

• Raise the engineering standards of the team by spearheading efforts to enhance workflows, processes, and tools.

• Analyze performance metrics and user feedback to discover improvement opportunities and drive optimization initiatives.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture and development processes.

• Conduct code reviews and participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest enhancements to optimize system performance and reliability.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices, proposing innovative solutions to enhance the platform.

• Play a vital role in the hiring process by assisting with interviews and onboarding new engineers.

• Foster a culture of open communication and continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback and coaching to junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer, delivering production code.

• More than 3 years of experience in backend distributed system design, development, and delivery.

• At least 3 years of experience with microservice architectures.

• Strong full-stack expertise in TypeScript, including a React (or similar) frontend and Node.js (or similar) backend.

• Demonstrated experience in building scalable systems that other engineering teams rely on and develop with.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to balance curiosity and decisive action.

• Strong communication and collaborative skills; this role necessitates a deep understanding of user (developer) needs, not merely executing tasks.

• Experience with agile development, CI/CD, and testing practices.

• Ability to prioritize across ambiguous, cross-team priorities without requiring management oversight.
