Senior Software Engineer, Computer Vision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, implement, and enhance multi-stage computer vision pipelines that include segmentation, object detection, multimodal LLM/LVM extraction, machine-readable code decoding, and reconciliation from multiple sources.

• Train or refine detection models using specialized medical supply datasets.

• Establish and manage a dataset strategy—utilize augmentation and synthetic data generation techniques to enhance the training and testing datasets when sufficient data is unavailable.

• Oversee and enhance pipeline accuracy by implementing field-level metrics, diagnosing failure modes, and systematically improving precision and recall through model iteration and preprocessing enhancements.

• Develop persistence schemas and audit data models to ensure that every extraction is independently verifiable.

• Sustain and expand the asynchronous Python backend services that present pipeline results to downstream clinical workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in computer vision and object detection.

• Practical experience in training and fine-tuning detection models.

• Familiarity with building OCR pipelines for the extraction of label and packaging text.

• Proficient in Python with expertise in OpenCV, image preprocessing, and augmentation methods.

• Production experience with multimodal LLM APIs for structured data extraction and validation.

• Backend engineering skills in FastAPI, Pydantic v2, PostgreSQL, and asynchronous Python.
