Senior Software Engineer, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage ADP and cloud services utilizing AWS, GCP, and Azure, encompassing both control plane and data plane components.

• Transform vague product requirements into precise technical designs and actionable workstreams.

• Guide the technical strategy for major projects within ADP and engage in architectural discussions that involve ADP and related Cloud teams.

• Foresee technical risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

• Establish and maintain high standards for reliability, scalability, performance, and security.

• Discover and advocate for new features, process enhancements, and strategic initiatives that promote engineering culture and operational excellence.

• Take part in the on-call escalation chain, assisting in reducing escalations and enhancing operational health.

• Create tools and services that facilitate automated infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and self-healing.

• Integrate resilience and observability into the systems you manage, allowing us to operate enterprise-grade agentic systems and services in the cloud.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and managing large-scale, reliable systems within public cloud environments.

• Proven history of managing large technical projects from start to finish, covering design, planning, execution, and production operations.

• Strong expertise in Go (or a similar systems programming language with a readiness to learn).

• Experience with AI-assisted software development processes, including tools such as Claude Code.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including the management and operation of workloads.

• Working knowledge of at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for system and network infrastructure.

• Familiarity with stream processing concepts.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating in a globally distributed, asynchronous environment (e.g., GitHub).

• Capability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and customer-facing stakeholders.
