This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the component-level architecture for Flui's AWS cloud environment.
• Manage and continuously enhance the platforms that support MarketFlow, MeterFlow, and the DCC adapter.
• Oversee disaster recovery plans, high-availability strategies, and capacity planning.
• Lead FinOps initiatives, ensuring cost visibility, accurate forecasting, effective tagging, allocation, and cost optimization.
• Maintain the cloud security posture, focusing on IAM, network security, encryption, and vulnerability and patch management.
• Ensure that the cloud infrastructure complies with Flui's ISO/IEC 27001 ISMS and related compliance obligations.
• Establish and uphold non-functional standards concerning resilience, performance, scalability, and observability.
• Design, construct, and implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform tools.
• Manage incident response, on-call practices, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of SRE methodologies.
• Make informed decisions regarding build-vs-buy and AWS-native-vs-open-source options.
• Oversee AWS and other vendor relationships and technical partnerships.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on cloud architecture and roadmap strategy.
• Recruit and nurture a platform engineering team.
• Document architectural decisions, conduct internal cloud and platform sessions, and mentor engineers.
• Proven experience in managing cloud platforms for regulated, high-availability, or critical-infrastructure businesses.
• Extensive, hands-on expertise in AWS encompassing compute, storage, networking, data, and security services.
• Established experience in designing and managing cloud-native platforms that integrate AWS-native services with open-source tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Prometheus/Grafana, or their equivalents.
• A solid track record in overseeing a FinOps practice and achieving consistent cloud cost reductions.
• Strong background in cloud security, including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001.
• Experience in defining and fulfilling non-functional requirements, including high availability, disaster recovery, performance/load testing, and scalability at production levels.
• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Well-developed CI/CD practices.
• Experience in knowledge sharing and enhancing technical capabilities through documentation, mentoring, or internal training.
• Willingness to engage in on-call/incident response as necessary.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous, or equivalent practical experience.
• Current AWS certification(s) are highly preferred.
