Senior Software Engineer, C++ – Video Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and enhance a high-performance, real-time video analytics pipeline.

• Take charge of performance, reliability, and observability throughout the pipeline — from custom GStreamer plugins to edge-to-cloud delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of traditional C/C++, with strong skills in utilizing modern C++ (C++17/20) features for writing safer, cleaner, and more maintainable code.

• Demonstrated expertise in multithreading, asynchronous programming, and concurrency management in C++.

• Proven experience in performance profiling and monitoring of C++ applications, with an emphasis on optimization and throughput.

• Solid background in debugging multi-threaded and real-time C++ applications using GDB.

• Experience in building and deploying applications with Docker, particularly on resource-constrained edge devices.

• Capability to influence technical direction, mentor colleagues, and implement effective solutions.

• Proven track record of optimizing complex systems for real-time performance and scalability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Nice to Have: Practical experience with the NVIDIA DeepStream SDK; hands-on experience with GStreamer and computer vision applications, including writing or maintaining custom GStreamer plugins; experience in CUDA and GPU programming, including GPU memory management on NVIDIA hardware; knowledge of encoding/decoding algorithms and streaming protocols; experience with edge deployment on AWS IoT Greengrass and edge-to-cloud IPC; familiarity with Python for build tooling, test harnesses, and analytics integration; experience with CMake-based build systems; a history of building observability into real-time systems.
