
Senior Software Engineer, C# / .NET – Billing System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• You will design, develop, and take charge of a central billing system (C# / .NET, backend), ensuring its stable operation.
• You will operate within an established .NET system landscape and take responsibility for the evolution of a long-standing codebase.
• You will analyze complex business and technical relationships, making well-informed technical decisions that sustainably enhance and modernize the system.
• You will engage with relational databases, web applications, and REST APIs in the .NET environment.
• You will perform deployments, monitor production operations, and follow issues through to deliver robust solutions.
• You will identify technical debt early, assess it realistically, and drive pragmatic, effective modernization efforts.
• Within the team, you will present technical topics clearly, uphold your decisions, and provide guidance even in challenging situations.
• You possess extensive experience as a software developer with C# and .NET, and are comfortable working within large, existing backend systems.
• Object-oriented development, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, REST APIs, and relational databases are fundamental skills in your repertoire.
• You are eager to work primarily in mature .NET codebases (e.g., .NET 4.7/4.8) and actively drive their modernization in a realistic manner.
• Clean Code, maintainable architectures, and automated tests are guiding principles that inform your decisions.
• You take ownership, communicate clearly, and can confidently represent technical positions.
• Experience with message brokers, CI/CD, Docker, or AI-assisted development tools is considered an advantage.
• Experience in product-focused environments such as FinTech, platforms, or SaaS enhances your profile.
