Senior Software Engineer, Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and execution of a new billing service, transitioning from outdated code to contemporary microservices, with robust test coverage and effective production observability.

• Support other product teams by developing and sustaining the billing infrastructure they rely on.

• Manage and resolve billing support inquiries, including escalating issues to the payments team when necessary.

• Work in close collaboration with the Accounts Receivable team to convert accounting requirements into engineering solutions.

• Utilize AI tools (Claude and/or Cursor) as your primary development platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong skills in system design — you can articulate the architectural decisions you've made, discuss trade-offs, and think at an infrastructure level.

• Exceptional communication skills — you can clearly convey technical issues to non-technical stakeholders such as accountants and business operations teams.

• Proficiency with AI — you are comfortable using Claude, Cursor, or similar tools as your primary coding interface; they are a regular part of your workflow.

• Proven track record of delivery — you have successfully deployed complex systems, not just features; you can discuss the significance and scale of your contributions.

• Nice to Have: Experience in FinTech, payments, fraud, or billing systems — relevant fields such as fraud prevention or payment logistics are also considered valuable.

• Nice to Have: Background in Java or Kotlin (most of our services utilize Java/Kotlin; this is not a strict requirement with AI involved).

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Terraform, Datadog, or Splunk.
