Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Consumer, Prediction Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of backend services for prediction markets, managing everything from market creation and discovery to trading, oracle resolution, settlement, and payout.

• Architect low-latency, high-throughput systems for a real-time financial product utilized by millions.

• Enhance reliability and performance by owning Service Level Objectives (SLOs), observability, and incident response for systems catering to millions of users.

• Set the technical standard through code, design reviews, and engineering practices, while addressing the most significant technical debt.

• Guide engineers within the team and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Institutional Markets, and Compliance to translate product and technical visions into actionable roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend engineering, demonstrating ownership of intricate, production-grade distributed systems.

• Strong expertise in backend programming languages (Go, Ruby, Python, or Java) with practical experience in designing microservices, event-driven architectures, and high-availability systems.

• Proven history of delivering projects from inception to completion, encompassing scoping, architecture, implementation, monitoring, and refinement.

• Experience in developing systems within regulated or financial contexts, where accuracy, auditability, and low-latency performance are paramount.

• Established ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to convert vague product requirements into clearly defined technical solutions.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of product quality. You are committed to enhancing the quality of the end-user experience you create.
