Senior Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Kubernetes Deep-Dive: Collaborate closely with Kubernetes internals to expand the frontiers of container orchestration.

• Go Development: Craft high-performance, resilient Go code that powers the core functionality of the vCluster platform.

• End-to-End Ownership: Assume complete responsibility for your tasks. You are self-motivated and capable of overseeing feature development from technical design through to release without requiring constant supervision.

• Open Source Innovation: Participate actively with the community and contribute to our open-source initiatives. You will help shape the next generation of tenancy models, developing scalable solutions for isolation and resource sharing that go beyond simple namespaces.

• Technical Problem Solving: Address challenging engineering issues where solutions are not readily available, necessitating a profound understanding of systems architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Kubernetes Mastery: Extensive expertise in Kubernetes internals. We appreciate a deep understanding of Kubernetes functionality (architectural patterns, networking, storage).

• Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Go. While knowledge of Kubernetes is critical, you must also be able to convert that knowledge into clean, efficient Go code.

• Builder Mindset: You create projects outside of work. You have active GitHub repositories, experiments, or contributions to open-source that showcase your enthusiasm for building.

• High Agency: You are technically proficient and self-motivated. You excel in environments where you are expected to identify issues and resolve them independently.

• Start-Up Grit: Experience in a high-growth setting. You are comfortable with uncertainty and eager to make a significant impact.

• Bonus points for Community Contributions: A track record of contributions to the Kubernetes project (Upstream), including documentation updates, Pull Requests (PRs), or active involvement in Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
