Senior Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to enhance our core data models and APIs, shifting from our current point-to-point architecture to a more robust, event-driven framework.

• Foster a culture of delivering dependable and scalable solutions. You will play a crucial role in establishing best practices for integration and end-to-end testing to boost our development speed and system reliability.

• Oversee the creation and upkeep of integrations with external systems such as EHRs. This involves developing clear, well-documented APIs and ensuring our systems can consistently communicate with a variety of external platforms.

• Guide and uplift fellow engineers on the team, especially in the domains of distributed systems, AWS best practices, and secure coding techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack development.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including serverless technologies (Lambda, Fargate), message queues (SQS/SNS), and data services (Kinesis, DynamoDB, RDS).

• Skilled in TypeScript and Node.js, with experience in React considered an advantage.

• Familiarity with both relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.

• Strong grasp of data modeling principles and their application in creating scalable and high-performance APIs.

• Regularly utilize AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as an integral part of your workflow, extending beyond basic prompts to automate tasks, manage long-running processes, and facilitate complex integrations.

• Proficient in deconstructing complex, ambiguous problems into clear, actionable steps.

• Thrive in a dynamic environment and are driven by achieving significant, high-impact results.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with product, data science, and other engineering teams to address real-world business challenges.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, able to express intricate ideas clearly.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapting to shifting priorities.
