Senior Software Engineer, Back-End – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance multi-gateway payment integrations: Design, implement, and maintain connections with various payment gateway providers, including Stripe, PayPal, and others.

• Create comprehensive payment experiences: Build backend payment services and APIs using C#/.NET while crafting user-friendly customer-facing interfaces in React, Svelte, and TypeScript.

• Prioritize security, compliance, and reliability: Implement PCI-DSS best practices and resilient design patterns.

• Embrace an AI-first methodology: Utilize AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Design for scalability and observability: Architect and manage distributed, event-driven services on AWS and Kubernetes.

• Facilitate cross-functional execution: Convert business requirements into technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of engineering experience.

• Ideally, 2+ years working as a Senior Individual Contributor or in a similar technical leadership role at a high-growth company or a scaled consumer platform.

• Extensive backend knowledge in C# (.NET).

• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, Svelte, and TypeScript.

• Solid understanding of databases and data modeling, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB).

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience in payments or fintech sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems.

• AI-focused engineering approach.

• Observability-oriented mindset.

• Strong security awareness.

• Effective communication skills.

• Strong sense of ownership.

• Interest in collecting is an advantage.
