• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot environments utilizing MikroTik RouterOS, focusing on scripting, APIs, and policy enforcement.
• Design, implement, and maintain software systems that interface with or control network infrastructure.
• Conduct advanced integration of network protocols, particularly emphasizing RADIUS, 802.1X, and associated AAA technologies.
• Create automation tools and network services that enhance configuration, authentication, and device lifecycle management.
• Develop, construct, and sustain efficient, security-hardened containerized services tailored for resource-constrained environments and modern Linux-based infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other development, product management, and UX team members to transform user stories into high-performing, scalable capabilities, features, services, and applications within the ecosystem.
• Partner with colleagues across various functions to address architectural and code-design challenges.
• Remain updated on service design and coding best practices, advocating for decisions that will enhance scalability and make a long-term impact.
• Operate within an Agile framework, participating in two-week sprints.
• Identify and integrate security requirements into the software development lifecycle process.
• Engage in security reviews as required to support technical discovery.
• Execute other assigned tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage in team-level knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in network-centric roles.
• Practical experience with MikroTik devices, RouterOS scripting, API integration, and configuration automation.
• Extensive knowledge of RADIUS, AAA workflows, 802.1X, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, firewalling, DHCP, DNS, and VPNs.
• Preferred familiarity with Linux and proficiency in CLI-driven environments.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (preferably CloudFormation).
• Background in RESTful API design and development.
• Experience in complex AWS systems, with a focus on Serverless architecture (i.e., avoiding servers and containers for all solutions).
• Proven track record in building scalable cloud services.
• Demonstrated experience delivering products as part of an Agile team.
• Strong motivation to assist a successful company in scaling existing cloud-based services while significantly contributing to the creation of new products.
