Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain robust machine learning systems utilizing Python (Pandas/NumPy, PyTorch/transformers) to facilitate efficient ML operations.

• Architect ML cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS services, ensuring the platform is designed for reusability, scalability, and high-volume throughput.

• Partner with application engineers to integrate, test, and monitor ML model services within SurveyMonkey’s microservices architecture.

• Serve as a consultant to internal feature teams, providing education and influencing decisions related to ML tools and infrastructure.

• Embed telemetry into the platform for intricate failure mode analysis, guaranteeing real-time reliability for millions of daily survey responses.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor, upholding high standards in coding, documentation, and architectural best practices to support the professional development of junior engineers on the MLP team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in ML development with a demonstrated history of designing and implementing ML infrastructure in AWS.

• In-depth knowledge of ML concepts (both supervised and unsupervised learning) and a comprehensive understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

• Advanced Python proficiency and experience with high-scale data processing (e.g., PySpark).

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and a background in deploying end-to-end solutions for real-time applications (such as spam detection, personalization, and ranking).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
