Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the design, development, and testing of software intended for external-facing software products.

• Collaborate with the team lead to conceptualize suitable UI, architecture, database, and instrument controls for the company's software offerings.

• Model behaviors, object hierarchies, and database structures.

• Perform unit testing, verification, and debugging of systems while troubleshooting to identify issues and communicate effective solutions.

• Present and engage in peer reviews of code and designs as needed.

• Responsible for enhancing existing systems to introduce new functionalities.

• Act as the lead for sprints for the development of one or more software modules as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.

• At least three years of experience in a software engineering setting is preferred.

• Experience in leading development sprints within an Agile framework is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of best software processes and practices relevant to the software development life cycle.

• Proficient in Java, along with relational databases and web technologies.

• Familiarity with build tools, automated build systems, and installation software is preferred.

• Experience with development and operations in a cloud environment, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, is preferred.

• Strong logical problem-solving skills and the ability to comprehend extensive software codebases while identifying improvement and extension opportunities.

• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities, with the capacity to work independently and continue learning; capable of taking and providing direction in a senior team role.
