Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services using Python with FastAPI.

• Create and present clean, well-documented REST APIs for frontend utilization.

• Take full ownership of the release cycle from start to finish, which includes managing the release calendar, versioning, and coordinating deployments across staging and production environments.

• Oversee and enhance Kubernetes deployments.

• Write and maintain Helm charts.

• Possess a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate with AWS infrastructure to support Aedeon's services.

• Monitor production health through CloudWatch.

• Engage in on-call duties and incident response activities.

• Work with PostgreSQL, focusing on query optimization.

• Construct and maintain robust workflows using Temporal for long-running or fault-tolerant processes.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers regarding API design, contracts, and integration requirements.

• Remain closely connected to code and infrastructure while taking responsibility for how Aedeon delivers its products.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4 to 6 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proficient in Python; experience with FastAPI is preferred, though familiarity with Django/Flask is also valuable.

• Extensive hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, services, configuration, debugging, and performance and cost optimization.

• Skilled in writing and maintaining Helm charts.

• Working knowledge of AWS services.

• Comfortable in designing REST APIs with frontend consumers in mind.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.

• Proven ownership of release processes and accountability for delivering clean, timely outputs.

• Understanding of Docker and fundamental containerization concepts.

• Ability to work closely with frontend engineers on API contracts and integration requirements.

• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or similar message queuing systems.

• Experience with Temporal or a comparable durable workflow orchestration engine.

• Proficiency in CloudWatch or similar monitoring and observability tools is preferred.

• Exposure to Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code solutions is preferred.

• Familiarity with additional message queues such as SQS or Kafka is preferred.

• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines is preferred.

• This is an individual-contributor role, not a management or lead position.
