This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Adopt a product-centric approach — take ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks, ensuring that your work has a genuine impact on customers.
• Design, develop, and deploy features from inception to production, addressing problems throughout the process.
• Integrate AI into your workflow — drafting specifications, generating code, and critically assessing results.
• Engage in augmented coding — uphold high standards in code quality, testing, and system architecture.
• Manage uncertainty by prototyping, iterating, and validating solutions with actual data.
• Contribute to the entire stack (Node, TypeScript, React) within a cloud-native environment (AWS/GCP).
• Enhance and advance a large, interconnected production codebase.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across services and make informed architectural choices.
• Take responsibility for production systems, including observability, reliability, deployments, and on-call duties.
• Collaborate intimately with engineers through code reviews, pairing, and collective problem-solving.
• Share knowledge and best practices through practical work rather than solely through documentation.
• Influence the technical trajectory within your team and contribute to wider engineering advancements.
• Help shape and refine engineering practices, particularly concerning AI-native development.
• Step up to lead ambiguous or significant challenges, and step back to empower others when needed.
• Leave systems and teams in a better state than you discovered them.
• 5–8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Extensive experience in building and deploying production systems using contemporary web technologies (TypeScript, Node, React).
• Strong skills in system design and debugging across distributed systems.
• Experience in managing services end-to-end, encompassing deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Robust testing discipline with a solid understanding of test design and coverage.
• Ability to navigate and enhance extensive, existing codebases.
• Comfort in dynamic, fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills; capable of translating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Product and Design teams.
• A product-focused mindset — starting with the customer’s problem and questioning assumptions.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance development workflows and results.
• Ability to quickly acclimate to unfamiliar systems and deliver value with minimal guidance.
• Proven track record of mentoring, pairing, or uplifting other engineers.
• Humility and curiosity; openness to learning, adapting, and sharing recognition.
