This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Collaborate across Support N1, Implementation, N2, and N3 teams, delivering technical solutions for escalated issues and facilitating deliveries that require engineering expertise.
• Join the Incident Management team, engaging in responses to critical incidents, leading investigations, minimizing impact, and contributing to post-mortem analyses and action plans.
• Maintain high availability and performance of the platform by identifying bottlenecks, recommending structural enhancements, and applying hardening, observability, and resilience strategies.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues with minimal initial context, proactively gathering essential information (logs, metrics, code, stakeholders) to determine the root cause.
• Implement fixes, enhancements, and new features across various platform systems, primarily focusing on backend development, while also addressing frontend needs to provide comprehensive solutions.
• Operate in a stack-agnostic manner, swiftly adapting to the programming language, framework, or technology pertinent to each team/context in which you work.
• Develop and refine integrations between internal and external services (APIs, microservices, distributed systems), ensuring attention to contracts, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
• Produce clean, testable, and efficient code, adhering to engineering best practices and area-defined standards, even when working on unfamiliar codebases.
• Create and execute automated and unit tests, particularly for incident resolutions, to prevent regressions and enhance platform reliability.
• Monitor application performance in production (dashboards, alerts, tracing), anticipating issues before they affect end customers.
• Document processes, architectures, runbooks, and incident insights, bolstering the autonomy and knowledge sharing within support teams.
• Engage in code reviews and team ceremonies for the squads you are assigned to, contributing a proactive, solution-focused attitude aimed at unblocking the team.
• Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on backend development and the capability to contribute to frontend tasks when necessary for end-to-end solutions.
• Versatile profile: adept at learning and developing in various languages and frameworks tailored to the squad context, without preference for a specific stack.
• Strong troubleshooting and production issue investigation skills, capable of identifying root causes even with limited initial context.
• Proactive in gathering necessary information (logs, metrics, code, stakeholders) and autonomous in leading complete resolutions.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs, with an understanding of common failure scenarios (timeouts, retries, idempotency, consistency).
• Practical knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.), including query assessment and optimization.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (logs, metrics, tracing) such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Sentry, OpenSearch, or similar.
• Understanding of contemporary engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and version control (Git).
• Previous experience in production support, incident management, or maintenance/sustainment teams.
• Strong technical communication skills tailored to various audiences: engineering, support, product, and business stakeholders, particularly during incidents.
• Ownership mentality, commitment to quality, and capability to prioritize tasks in environments with multiple simultaneous demands.
