Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Backend Software Engineer on the DAO team, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable systems that provide an exceptional experience for both Credit Union members and staff.

• You will take ownership of problems from start to finish: understanding business requirements, making architectural decisions, and delivering reliable solutions with minimal supervision.

• Engage closely with Product and Design teams, as well as external partners, to enhance skills that extend beyond engineering, including communication, product insight, and negotiation.

• Ensure the production of high-quality code that facilitates efficient delivery of new features and improvements.

• Write clean, efficient, and testable code that is straightforward to maintain and debug.

• Take charge of medium-to-large features from the technical design phase all the way to production.

• Proactively identify and resolve technical debt or reliability issues within your domain.

• Continuously enhance the team’s processes, brainstorm innovative ideas, and communicate updates on status and progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with significant backend experience in dynamic environments (SaaS and/or Fintech preferred).

• Expertise in backend technologies, particularly TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.

• Proven experience in designing and developing APIs and services within distributed systems; comfortable making trade-offs between speed, quality, and scalability.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities — you delve into root causes rather than just surface-level fixes.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows; you leverage AI tools to enhance your output while ensuring full accountability for code quality.

• Capability to articulate technical decisions clearly to cross-functional partners (Product, Design, external stakeholders).

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first work environment.
