This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Create features for Storm8's mobile gaming applications.
• Design and implement functionalities for both client-side gameplay and backend services.
• Collaborate with Art, Design, and Product teams to convert creative requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify and resolve issues in live products, including crashes, client-server integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Refactor current code to enhance maintainability and address recurring defects.
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to decisions regarding technical design.
• Estimate development tasks and recognize dependencies or technical risks.
• Manage content and build pipelines for stable client and server deployments.
• Validate modifications through automated testing, in-game testing, and release checks.
• Assist with production releases and investigate any regressions.
• Take ownership of features from implementation through to testing and release.
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong expertise in C#.
• Professional experience in developing and launching mobile games using Unity.
• Comprehensive understanding of software architecture patterns, data structures, and system design.
• Experience in shipping consumer-facing applications and providing ongoing support in a live production setting.
• Proficient debugging skills and experience in diagnosing issues within established codebases.
• Knowledge in enhancing code quality and stability via automated testing, code reviews, and version control.
• Capability to take a feature from implementation to production with minimal supervision.
• Excellent cross-functional communication abilities.
• Familiarity with Go (Golang) for backend service development, including API design and database integration (preferred).
• Understanding of the casual or mid-core mobile game market and its mechanics (preferred).
• Experience with the mobile release lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, and App Store/Google Play submissions (preferred).
• Proficiency in writing native Unity plugins using Objective-C/Swift or Java/Kotlin (preferred).
• Knowledge of live analytics platforms or BI tools (preferred).
• Availability from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time for team collaboration.
• Must reside in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Connecticut, Hawaii, Arizona, or Massachusetts.
• Fully remote work.
