This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of and successfully execute projects that may cover several sprints.
• Proactively determine solutions for ambiguous and open-ended challenges.
• Manage multiple smaller components or services effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams and cross-functional partners.
• Define and achieve project milestones efficiently.
• Guide less-experienced team members through code reviews and design patterns.
• Advocate for code quality, reusability, scalability, security, and strategic software architecture.
• Work alongside data engineers and analysts to comprehend data pipeline requirements and enhance the platform.
• Implement software engineering best practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD) in data pipeline and ETL/ELT development.
• Assist in designing and implementing data workflows while increasing familiarity with ingestion and transformation patterns.
• Identify data quality concerns and contribute to improvements in observability across data systems.
• Write code that effectively encapsulates the core aspects of the solution while being flexible, reusable, efficient, and adaptable to evolving requirements.
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Microservices and Event Driven Architecture (AWS, Serverless, Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Experience with testing frameworks (unit, integration, functional).
• Proficiency in DevOps tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to or enthusiasm for data pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT, batch vs. streaming, data modeling).
• Familiarity with SQL and experience working with relational or analytical data stores; query optimization experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• A willingness to learn about data orchestration tools.
