Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and implement application services and software components to facilitate scalable and dependable platform operations.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines within GitLab to promote efficient and automated software delivery workflows.

• Create and uphold unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to guarantee application quality, stability, and reliability.

• Ensure that application services remain functional, stable, and accessible in production settings.

• Oversee production applications and ensure that systems are regularly updated with the latest security patches and improvements.

• Establish and manage monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve operational challenges.

• Examine, troubleshoot, and resolve technical difficulties promptly and effectively.

• Assist with change management and incident management processes to ensure operational continuity and controlled implementations.

• Engage in on-call rotations to support critical systems and respond to operational incidents as necessary.

• Keep precise and current development and operational documentation to promote transparency and knowledge sharing among teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• At least 5 years of programming expertise in C, with additional experience in Go being ideal.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing, along with experience in network programming technologies including VPP, DPDK, and eBPF/XDP.

• Willingness to participate in Level 3 support and 24/7 on-call shifts, with additional compensation available.

• Experience in agile development environments and methodologies.

• Proficiency in Git.

• Solid and practical knowledge of Linux systems and environments.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, is advantageous.

• Understanding of mobile core network structures and telecommunications standards is a plus.
