Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and take ownership of essential components of the agent platform, ranging from the orchestration layer to tool integrations that connect to internal systems.

• Develop and enhance the capabilities layer, which includes APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to perform operational workflows.

• Design the architecture for knowledge and memory infrastructure, ensuring agents can retrieve data and operate across various systems.

• Create and implement trust and safety frameworks, incorporating audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails.

• Contribute to the infrastructure for evaluating and testing agents, focusing on metrics such as accuracy, reliability, and regression.

• Collaborate with Operations to comprehend workflows, identify automation opportunities, and translate process knowledge into agent capabilities.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers as the team expands.

• Assume responsibility for significant segments of the technology stack and deliver production-ready systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience in building and managing production systems.

• Practical experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, RAG, tool/function calling, or similar technologies.

• Strong skills in API design and system integration.

• A product-oriented mindset, actively questioning requirements and contributing to product decisions.

• Demonstrated ownership of complex projects in ambiguous and early-stage settings.

• Solid backend engineering principles with the capability to design, build, and operate production systems.

• A strong sense of curiosity and a desire to develop expertise in AI and LLMs.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, VueJS, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, Git, Memcache, Redis, ElasticSearch, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, CircleCI, and DataDog.
