Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Become part of a small, highly independent cross-functional team dedicated to developing AI agents that revolutionize operations at scale.

• Design, construct, and take ownership of essential agent-platform components, which include orchestration and integrations with internal systems.

• Develop and refine APIs, data access methodologies, and service integrations that empower agents to perform operational workflows.

• Create the architecture for knowledge and memory infrastructure to facilitate data retrieval and actions across systems.

• Design and execute trust and safety frameworks, incorporating audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and protective measures.

• Contribute to the infrastructure for evaluating and testing agents, focusing on metrics like accuracy, reliability, and regression.

• Collaborate with Operations to comprehend workflows, pinpoint automation opportunities, and convert process insights into agent functionalities.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers as the team expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience in building and managing production systems.

• Practical experience with LLMs and AI agents, covering orchestration, RAG, tool/function calling, or related areas.

• Strong skills in API design and system integration.

• Product-oriented mindset, which includes questioning requirements and contributing to product decisions.

• Demonstrated ownership of intricate projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.

• Robust backend engineering fundamentals with the capability to design, build, and manage production systems.

• A genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for developing expertise in AI and LLMs.

• Comfortable in a dynamic, early-stage environment.

• A pragmatic approach that balances quality and speed.

• An ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects to fruition.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, VueJS, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, Git, Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, CircleCI, and Datadog.
