Senior Software Engineer – AI SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance backend systems utilizing Scala, Play, Postgres, and AWS.

• Develop and implement scalable APIs and AI-driven services.

• Take full ownership of feature development from conception to deployment.

• Create frontend components using React, Chakra, Storybook, and contemporary state management tools.

• Establish and uphold agent-driven development processes.

• Leverage Claude Code and Codex to expedite implementation, debugging, and refactoring across multiple sessions.

• Build internal tools, prompts, and engineering systems to boost velocity and enhance code quality.

• Improve performance across frontend, backend, and AI-assisted pipelines.

• Establish best practices for AI-centric software development.

• Eventually lead a small team of 2–3 engineers and influence their interaction with AI.

• Address challenges during six-week Shape Up cycles and enhance systems, tooling, or explore new ideas during two-week cooldowns.

• Collaborate asynchronously and independently within a global remote team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• Significant expertise in backend systems using Scala, Java, Ruby, or C#.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React.

• Experience in developing and scaling SaaS products.

• Extensive knowledge of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.

• Comfortable navigating multi-session, agent-driven workflows.

• Strong intuition for determining when to utilize AI versus manual implementation.

• Proven experience in designing systems, rather than merely implementing features.

• Exceptional written communication skills.

• Reside in a timezone ranging from UTC-6 to UTC+2.

• Deep understanding of configuration and context-structuring in Claude Code or Codex.

• Experience in experimenting with or creating custom LLM development workflows.

• Familiarity with internal engineering tools, prompts, or AI “skills.”

• Experience with agent-like systems functioning across files, repositories, or tasks.

• Comfortable with coding, system design, guiding AI agents, and troubleshooting AI-generated output.
