Senior Software Engineer, AI Products – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and develop internal web applications utilizing NextJS and FastAPI.

• Create and manage backend services and REST APIs that support automation tools and AI-enhanced features.

• Collaborate with data engineers to incorporate BigQuery pipelines and metadata systems into user-facing applications.

• Lead feature development from initial concept through to production, taking ownership of technical design, implementation, and reliability.

• Tackle complex problems across the stack, balancing the speed of delivery with long-term maintainability.

• Guide junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and providing technical mentorship.

• Establish and advocate for engineering standards concerning code quality, testing, and system architecture.

• Influence the technical roadmap and architectural choices as the team expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development focused on building internal tools or data-driven applications.

• Proficient in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting production web applications using React or NextJS.

• Skilled in designing and scaling REST APIs (FastAPI or similar).

• In-depth knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake), including performance tuning.

• Proven track record of managing systems from design through to deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and leading engineering best practices.

• Strong communication abilities with non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) at scale.

• Practical experience in developing production AI solutions, including agents, agentic workflows, and RAG systems.

• Extensive knowledge of LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK) and their associated trade-offs.

• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into production environments, focusing on prompt engineering and cost management.

• Strong background in containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS).

• Background in data engineering, pipeline design, and creating tools for analysts.

• Experience in the media, entertainment, or streaming sectors.
