This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and improve internally developed applications and tools that facilitate terminology management, content creation, mapping, workflow automation, and content delivery.
• Develop and sustain integrations among internal applications, APIs, knowledge bases, databases, and AI services.
• Create and implement new automation and AI-enhanced functionalities.
• Offer operational support for AI-enabled applications and workflows in production, which includes troubleshooting, incident response, release coordination, and maintenance.
• Oversee deployments, infrastructure configuration, monitoring, alerting, and operational support for applications and services hosted on AWS.
• Examine production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement reliable improvements.
• Assist in the development of AI agents and workflow automation capabilities as they evolve into scalable production solutions.
• Create and troubleshoot AWS cloud workflows utilizing Bedrock, Lambda, Glue, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and MWAA/Airflow.
• Establish testing, monitoring, and operational-readiness protocols for AI-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with clinical, terminology, product, data science, and engineering teams.
• Guide team members and advocate for secure, maintainable, production-ready engineering practices.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience will also be accepted.
• More than 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, backend engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, MLOps, cloud engineering, or a related area, including support for production systems.
• Strong expertise in Python and experience in developing maintainable production services, APIs, internal tools, jobs, or workflow automation.
• Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications in AWS.
• Background in building or supporting AI-enabled applications using Amazon Bedrock, LLM APIs, knowledge bases, AI agents, RAG, or analogous technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, automated testing, configuration management, and release processes.
• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized services, Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code, and production monitoring/alerting tools.
• Experience with workflow orchestration, data pipelines, or job scheduling tools such as Airflow/MWAA, Glue, Lambda, cron-based jobs, or similar technologies.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities, including triaging production issues, root-cause analysis, log analysis, and implementing durable solutions.
• Ability to collaborate with domain experts and convert workflow requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong skills in communication, documentation, and collaboration.
• Preferred: experience in scaling AI applications or agent-based workflows for production.
• Preferred: familiarity with prompt engineering, tool/function calling, AI evaluation, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
• Preferred: knowledge of LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, healthcare technology, clinical data, clinical terminology, regulated data environments, knowledge graphs, semantic standards, vector databases, embeddings, and search technologies.
• Preferred: AWS certifications.
• Base salary target ranging from $140,000 to $200,000 per year.
