Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deliver production-ready systems, APIs, and services for platform functionalities and customer-oriented experiences.

• Take full ownership of projects from inception to completion, encompassing technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iterative enhancements.

• Create dependable, scalable, and observable systems that provide customer value and empower engineering teams.

• Manage production health by overseeing monitoring, troubleshooting, performance, reliability, and issue resolution.

• Develop reusable infrastructure, frameworks, tools, and experiences for developers.

• Enhance engineering velocity and operational quality through automation, documentation, and ongoing improvements.

• Contribute to technical designs for intricate projects, assess trade-offs, and propose practical implementation strategies.

• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and engineering teams on technical solutions and delivery.

• Identify and mitigate technical debt, reliability risks, and software-development friction.

• Establish reusable patterns and elevate engineering standards alongside Staff and senior engineers.

• Engage in code reviews, design reviews, debugging, incident response, and operational support.

• Utilize agentic coding tools and AI-assisted development as a core part of the workflow.

• Assess AI-generated code for accuracy, edge cases, and potential regressions.

• Build or integrate AI/LLM-powered functionalities, including evaluation frameworks, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows.

• Contribute to AI-enhanced development, testing, and code review methodologies.

• Provide technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Develop expertise in relevant data, workflows, and customer requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in backend and/or full-stack software engineering.

• Proficient backend engineering experience using Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, or Django.

• Familiarity with relational/NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.

• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.

• Strong grasp of CI/CD, observability, and managing services in a production environment.

• Comfortable working full-stack when necessary; TypeScript/React experience is an asset.

• Ability to decompose complex technical challenges and provide practical, maintainable solutions.

• Strong sense of ownership and the capability to drive projects independently while effectively collaborating with other teams.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to engineering and cross-functional partners.

• Practical experience with AI-native development tools such as Cursor or Augment.

• Demonstrated fluency with AI, including discernment about when AI is appropriate, adapted code review practices for AI-generated code, and safeguards against over-reliance on AI tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• Hands-on experience in building or integrating AI/LLM-powered systems in production, including RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, evaluation workflows, guardrails, prompt/tool orchestration, or model observability.

• Comfort working in ambiguous, rapidly changing technical environments.

• Background in financial services or fintech is a desirable asset.

• Experience with API gateway/infrastructure, security and governance tools, retrieval and data-access systems, or agent frameworks at a production scale is a plus.
