Senior Software Engineer – AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and enhance prompts for Vision-Language Models that assist in document classification, text extraction, and code compliance verification.

• Construct, implement, and sustain automated AI evaluation pipelines that assess accuracy, latency, precision, recall, F1 score, costs, and various quality metrics.

• Assess and compare Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, and other foundational models.

• Execute structured output extraction utilizing function calling, JSON mode, Pydantic models, and schema validation.

• Create, develop, and manage Python-based AI services leveraging FastAPI and asynchronous programming.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Construction Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Engineering leadership to outline technical strategies and convert regulatory and business requirements into scalable AI platform functionalities.

• Oversee, diagnose, and resolve production challenges across AI inference services, application layers, and cloud infrastructure.

• Enhance AI workflows for scalability, reliability, latency, and operational efficiency while controlling inference costs.

• Participate in architectural decisions related to AI services, cloud infrastructure, model orchestration, and application integration.

• Guide engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, technical design reviews, and knowledge sharing.

• Lead the technical design and architecture of AI platform functionalities.

• Steer technical direction through architecture reviews, engineering standards, and collaborative efforts on complex AI projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Significant experience in designing prompts and workflows for Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT-family and Gemini models or their equivalents.

• Proven experience in creating AI evaluation frameworks, encompassing datasets, accuracy metrics, precision, recall, F1 scoring, and per-example analysis.

• Strong comprehension of multimodal AI systems that merge document images with natural language prompts.

• Extensive experience with Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, asynchronous programming, and API development.

• Experience in optimizing AI systems for inference costs, latency, scalability, reliability, and operational performance.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service, Google Vertex/Gemini, or similar enterprise AI platforms.

• Experience in developing AI-driven document processing, document intelligence, or intelligent automation solutions.

• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, or agentic AI workflows.

• Experience in deploying and managing AI applications using Azure cloud services, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in building modern web applications or data-intensive user interfaces using React, Next.js, or comparable frameworks.

• Background in Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), permitting, or regulatory compliance software.
