Senior Software Engineer – AI, Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of technical solutions from start to finish, converting customer and business requirements into scalable, production-ready software.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software throughout its entire lifecycle.

• Make architectural and implementation choices with minimal supervision.

• Create and construct scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Develop contemporary full-stack applications utilizing both backend and frontend technologies.

• Enhance application performance, scalability, observability, and reliability.

• Develop AI-driven product features, AI agents, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation solutions.

• Integrate LLMs, AI services, and external APIs into production applications.

• Construct prompt orchestration, tool-calling, multi-agent workflows, RAG, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval.

• Assess emerging AI technologies and prototype new functionalities.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to transform customer requirements into scalable software solutions.

• Advocate for code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development practices.

• Engage in code reviews, architectural reviews, production support, incident response, root cause analysis, and operational enhancements.

• Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and influence technical strategy.

• Report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with Product Management, Design, Development, Quality Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.

• Extensive experience in backend software engineering for scalable production systems.

• Strong background in full-stack development.

• Proficient in designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed systems.

• Significant experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with modern databases, caching technologies, and messaging systems.

• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

• Experience in Agile software development environments.

• Proven experience in developing AI-enabled applications, AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM integrations, prompt engineering, tool calling, AI orchestration, AI evaluation and testing, rapid AI prototyping, and AI-assisted software development.

• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, MCP, LangChain, vector databases, or similar frameworks is a strong plus.

• Technical proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#; React or modern frontend frameworks; Node.js; REST APIs and GraphQL; AWS; Docker and Kubernetes; MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis; GitHub Actions or CI/CD; Infrastructure as Code; observability and monitoring; event-driven architectures; serverless computing.

• Ability to take initiative, make independent technical decisions, adapt to shifting priorities, solve complex problems, communicate effectively, mentor others, and engage in continuous learning.
