Senior Software Engineer – Aerial Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and development of an innovative end-to-end reference system stack for 5G/6G baseband systems.

• Optimize CPU, GPU, and NIC subsystems to ensure predictable low-latency performance and maximize throughput.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within CPU, GPU, and NIC subsystems.

• Operate in a lab environment to troubleshoot and integrate complex software modules.

• Develop software to implement new baseband functions using C/C++/Python/CUDA on a GPU platform.

• Provide support for system integration, performance testing, system demonstrations, and lab trials for the end-to-end system.

• Act as a technical liaison between the engineering team and the engineering teams of partners/customers.

• Engage with customer field trials and technical teams.

• Assist in implementing missing features to facilitate progress for customers/partners and in benchmarking, as well as develop/evaluate test tools for Aerial SDK assessment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in wireless communication systems or digital signal processing.

• Industry experience in developing PHY/MAC layer or baseband unit (BBU) software using C/C++.

• Comprehension of PHY/MAC layer procedures and typical performance trade-offs.

• Familiarity with LTE/5G MAC and PHY from both systems and low-level 3GPP specifications perspectives.

• Proficient in using wireless lab equipment such as signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, etc.

• Experience with CUDA/GPU programming is a plus.

• MS or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of relevant industry experience in software development and systems engineering.

• Understanding of telecommunications radio device design and implementation in a regulated environment.

• Capability to work independently or assume a technical leadership role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with management and engineering teams.

• Strong time-management and organizational skills for coordinating multiple initiatives, priorities, and the integration of new technologies and products into complex projects.
