Senior Software Engineer, Account Onboarding – Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer on the AOM team, you will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle of features, from initial conception to final deployment.

• You will play a pivotal role in developing scalable, maintainable, and robust systems and user interfaces that prioritize customer needs.

• Collaborating within a cross-functional team, you will work closely with engineers and product stakeholders to design and create innovative solutions that effectively address our clients' daily challenges.

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications in our AWS environment, ensuring that implementations align with business requirements and meet high-quality standards.

• Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, to drive smooth product development from concept through to deployment.

• Keep our technology stack modern and competitive by remaining informed about the latest industry trends and technologies.

• Improve system observability and reliability by writing tests, incorporating key metrics, debugging issues, and learning from incidents.

• Contribute to the growth of our team by assisting in resume screening and conducting interviews for prospective new talent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of fullstack development experience with complete ownership of business-critical systems.

• Frontend: Strong skills in the React.js ecosystem (TypeScript, Hooks, Redux/Zustand, React Query, MUI, Emotion/Styled Components).

• Backend: Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript, with experience in building APIs and working with event-driven/serverless systems.

• Familiarity with Python, Go, Nest.js, or similar languages/libraries is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with AWS (Serverless, basic networking, container services, RDS) and database management.

• Strong database design capabilities with PostgreSQL/MySQL, solid SQL fundamentals, and experience with ORMs (TypeORM, Prisma).

• Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented and curious, with strong debugging skills, able to balance correctness with practical trade-offs.

• Collaboration & Growth: An effective communicator, open to feedback, and enthusiastic about taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.

• AI-assisted coding: Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) and familiar with integrating LLM APIs (e.g., MCP, RAG).

• Domain Knowledge: Experience in fintech, including areas such as KYC, compliance, onboarding, payments/cards, and cryptocurrency.

• Startup Mindset: Experience in high-growth or startup environments.

• Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS SAM.
