This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, develop, and sustain scalable test automation frameworks for our member-facing applications (both web and mobile), addressing UI, API, and integration layers.
• Create and manage a thorough regression suite that ensures confidence for every release across our multi-state health insurance platform.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to enhance quality from the start—crafting testable acceptance criteria, devising test strategies during sprint planning, and identifying defects early in the development process.
• Establish and uphold CI/CD-integrated test pipelines that deliver quick, reliable feedback on every pull request and deployment.
• Lead initiatives in AI-driven quality engineering: investigate and implement LLM-assisted test generation, intelligent test upkeep, and autonomous QA agents capable of validating complex claims, benefits, and member workflows.
• Analyze and address production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop targeted regression tests to avert future occurrences.
• Set quality metrics and reporting that provide engineering leadership with insight into test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
• Advocate for a quality-first culture within the Member Experience engineering organization—mentoring and promoting testability best practices among developers.
• Extensive hands-on experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or Quality Engineer in a software product environment.
• Profound expertise in constructing test automation frameworks from the ground up (not merely scripting within existing frameworks)—you have made architectural decisions regarding tools, patterns, and infrastructure.
• Strong programming capabilities in Java, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages; you produce production-quality code.
• Experience in testing modern web applications built on frameworks such as React/Next.js/React Native/Flutter and backend services using Spring Boot or similar JVM-based stacks.
• Proficient with API and integration testing tools and methodologies (REST, GraphQL, contract testing).
• Practical experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred): knowledge of testing applications running on Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and related services.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis abilities—you can read application code, trace through distributed systems, and identify failure points.
• Exceptional communication skills and the capability to influence engineering teams on quality practices as a collaborator, not a gatekeeper.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Competitive salary, bonus opportunity, and equity package.
• Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
• A 401k retirement plan.
• Paid vacation and company holidays.
• Opportunity to make an impact at a rapidly growing mission-driven company transforming healthcare in the U.S.
