This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develop features for the Aetna Health website utilizing a modern microfrontend architecture.
• Work in collaboration with engineers, product teams, and design teams to implement new features.
• Refactor existing code to enhance application stability and scalability.
• Design, create, and deploy digital solutions and software systems.
• Architect and program software applications.
• Perform system testing and debugging tasks.
• Contribute to the technical direction and innovation of digital engineering initiatives.
• Write and contribute code and tests as per product and engineering standards.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and provide support for the application in production environments.
• Improve application stability, performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
• Facilitate discussions by conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage in software architecture design activities.
• Provide insights on technical feasibility, performance enhancements, and scalability issues.
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Mentor and guide junior developers.
• Over 5 years of professional experience with modern web frameworks, including ReactJS and Redux.
• More than 3 years of experience working with RESTful APIs.
• At least 2 years of experience in building or working within a microfrontend architecture, such as Module Federation.
• Proficient in writing unit and integration tests.
• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client.
• Familiarity with testing tools like Jest, Vitest, Playwright, and automated accessibility testing tools such as axe-core or jest-axe.
• Experience in developing or utilizing a component library or design system, such as Storybook.
• Knowledge of AWS, New Relic, LaunchDarkly, or a headless CMS like Contentful.
• Capability to translate large features into software designs.
• Understanding of GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AI-assisted development using Claude Code and the Claude API, including creating custom skills, subagents, hooks, and MCP servers.
• Familiarity with TypeScript is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong commitment to maintaining code standards and software quality.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, which includes a high school diploma along with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week.
