Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist and guide developers in the design and execution of project tasks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Work collaboratively with designers and Product Managers to assess, prioritize, and organize tasks within an Agile framework.

• Maintain openness by proactively informing stakeholders about progress, risks, and technical decisions.

• Develop clear and maintainable documentation and diagrams that effectively convey complex solutions to clients and team members.

• Interact directly with clients to grasp requirements, provide updates, and answer questions with clarity and professionalism.

• Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.

• Engage in code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable, and consistent codebases.

• Utilize modern AI-driven and agentic developer tools (e.g., Claude Code, Devin, GitHub Copilot, Codex) to enhance speed, quality, and creativity in problem-solving.

• Assess when and how to responsibly implement AI-assisted development, balancing efficiency with sound engineering judgment.

• Identify opportunities to integrate automation and AI into workflows (e.g., test generation, scaffolding, documentation, debugging support, architecture exploration).

• Play a role in shaping Orium’s internal adoption of AI for software development and share insights with the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of industry experience as a full-stack JavaScript developer, proficient in both front-end and back-end development.

• Experience with eCommerce or retail POS/OMS systems.

• Strong expertise in contemporary web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, GraphQL, Next.js, Node.js, Chakra UI, React Query, TypeScript.

• Understanding of responsive design and the differences between mobile and desktop interactions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing communication abilities.

• Familiarity with modern digital and AI-assisted development tools, with a willingness to utilize agentic coding tools to enhance development efficiency.

• Strong critical thinking regarding the role of AI in development, recognizing both the opportunities and limitations within the engineering process.

• A continuous learning mindset, with a focus on experimentation and curiosity.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is considered an asset.
