Senior Software Developer – Application Development, Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise web-based solutions that range from moderately to highly complex.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of a centralized platform featuring reusable components, configurable processes, workflow automation, and system integrations.

• Lead technical development initiatives from solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to assess operational challenges and convert requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Contribute to architectural and technical decisions that enhance performance, maintainability, security, and scalability.

• Develop and sustain frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and database integrations.

• Facilitate the migration of applications and development processes to cloud environments, specifically AWS.

• Recognize opportunities to standardize development through reusable components, common frameworks, and automation.

• Assess and implement new technologies and development methodologies.

• Diagnose complex application issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and devise sustainable solutions.

• Engage in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Mentor and offer technical guidance to less experienced developers.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation for development, deployment, and long-term sustainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A University Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.

• Extensive experience in developing and maintaining enterprise web applications.

• Proven expertise in software design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Experience in translating business requirements into technical designs and development tasks.

• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens can access information under this program/contract.

• Preference for experience with manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise business process applications.

• Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives is preferred.

• Familiarity with frontend/backend separation, RESTful APIs, and relational databases is preferred.

• Knowledge of large-scale data systems and pipelines is preferred.

• Experience with reusable enterprise platforms, legacy modernization, or workflow-based business solutions is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in application development with C#/.NET/ASP.NET Core.

• Knowledge of React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Experience in RESTful API development and integration.

• Familiarity with Entity Framework Core.

• Skills in HTML/CSS.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Understanding of relational database design, SQL development, and query optimization.

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Skills in containerized application development and deployment.

• Familiarity with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of modern web application architecture and Backend-for-Frontend design patterns.

• Experience in workflow orchestration and business process automation.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and application security.

• Ability to integrate with enterprise systems and services.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, written and oral communication, teamwork, and technical guidance skills.
